Madonna tour costumes unveiled
Costume designs for Madonna's upcoming Sticky & Sweet tour have been unveiled, and show no signs that the Material Girl will tone down her look as she reaches 50.
Enlisting the help of a host of the world's top designers, the singer will wear costumes by Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, custom-made shoes by Miu Miu and Stella McCartney, sunglasses by Moschino, and other pieces by Yves Saint Laurent and Roberto Cavalli, among others.
Even her band get in on the designer action, wearing bespoke suits by Tom Ford.
Speaking to WWD, Madonna's long-term stylist Arianne Phillips revealed that the tour would be split into four sections, each with a distinct look. The first is gangsta pimp and Art Deco, which will feature Givenchy costumes, followed by old school, which will see Madonna revisit the style which marked the start of her career. Next up is gypsy, followed by a Japanese influences rave section.
Commenting on Madonna's style, Phillips revealed that age would have little effect on her wardrobe choices. 'She always wants to push the envelope,' Phillips describes, 'There are no vanity considerations based on her age. She looks good in everything.'
The tour kicks off in Cardiff on 23 August.
