Posh to star in movie?

Marie Claire celebrity photos: Victoria Beckhams birthday party, David & Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham is being courted to appear in Steve Coogan's upcoming Alan Partridge movie.



Producers of the movie are reportedly trying to get La Beckham to sign up as the tactless presenter's assistant.



An insider claimed that the movie had stalled while producers debated who should be cast as Partridge's long-suffering assistant.



And Posh allegedly impressed the filmmakers with her rapier-like wit'.



The source said: 'The Partridge film has been in pre-production for an age. One reason was because they couldn?t agree on Lynn.



'Felicity Montagu, who played Lynn in the series, doesn't want to go to Hollywood and the film's backers decided they wanted a big name to replace her.



'It was also important to them to have a Brit and someone with a sense of fun.'



The source added: 'Victoria is a big name but no one expected her to have such a rapier-like wit. She's game to frump up for the role, too. She was practising her hangdog grimace to David on Monday. It was cracking him up.'



Alan Partidge, played by his creator Steve Coogan, first appeared in the Radio 4 show On the Hour, before hitting the big-time with his own shows, The Day Today, Knowing Me, Knowing You and I'm Alan Partridge.

2 things wrong with this:

1. Stop calling her 'La' Beckham, she's not latino like 'La Lopez' aka JLo etc. etc., which is the only explanation I can think of for calling her this, and we don't want an affectionate term for Victoria her thanks.

2. Why is it that every time anything to do with Victoria Beckham appears anywhere, half the article is dedicated to trying to persuade us that she is down to earth, light-hearted, doesn't take herself seriously and is really a huge barrel of laughs?? There's a reason people think the opposite: her ridiculous clothes, ridiculous body, ridiculous inability to show anything more than a pained grimace, let alone a smile, in public. If she continues to crave public attention in the way that she does, then the only person who can change the perception we have of her is her!! If she started to look and behave a bit more normally then perhaps people would warm to her more.

I can't wait to see this film. I need a really good laugh and this will guarantee one! Victoria Beckham acting.....I don't think so.
