Beyonce and Jay-Z married
It seems congratulations are in order for Beyoncé and Jay-Z – music's most famous couple have tied the knot at a star-studded bash in New York.
Celebity pals, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin and Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, joined the couple's parents for a private ceremony in NY.
The happy couple set tongues wagging when they applied for a marriage license last Tuesday, and wasted no time from their 60-day allowance, marrying three days later on Friday night.
All the women wore white, and guests were banned from bringing mobile phones to the service. One friend told People magazine: 'It happened earlier this evening. Jay wanted it to be a really private affair – close friends and family.'
The ceremony was followed by a lavish party at rapper Jay-Z's loft apartment in the trendy Tribeca district. On Friday morning, workers erected a white tent on the building where Jay-Z owns a penthouse apartment. Not long after, an SUV carrying what seemed to be AV equipment arrived, followed by deliveries of party rentals and flowers.
Celebrity florist Amy's Orchids was hired to provide 50,000 to 60,000 white orchid blooms from Thailand for a 'big party'.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been together for six years since they met while collaborating on his hit Bonnie and Clyde and, although the couple are keeping tight-lipped about the nuptials, Mary J Blige gave them a shout-out on stage on Saturday night, saying: 'Congratulations to my man, Jay-Z, and my girl B.'

I was glad to hear about the two of you getting married. Remember to keep God first and the both of you second. What ever you did the last six years to stay together. Dont' fix what's not broke. Stay in love, a little jealousy don't hurt, but keep it under control. Keep family and friends out of your relationship. Oh, you know what I am trying to say. Beyounce, You go Girl, and Jay, You R the Man. Congratulations.
