Gwyneth Paltrow ambassador for Save the Children

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow has been made an ambassador for charity Save the Children.

The actress will be heavily involved in the organisation's three-year plan to reduce the number of children dying from preventable diseases across the world.

Gwyneth, who is already dedicated to New York charity the Robin Hood Foundation helping to reduce poverty in the city, has recently announced that she will be putting her career on hold to concentrate on raising her family.

The 35-year-old has two children – Apple, 3 and Moses 23 months - with husband Chris Martin.

Gwyneth is joining fellow celebrity, American Idol judge Randy Jackson, who was made Save the Children's first ever United States Programs Ambassador.

Save the Children has already hit the headlines recently for its innovative Kroo Bay project, launching an interactive website from the slums of Sierra Leone. Marie Claire is supporting the project so why not follow Gwyneth's lead and click here to do your bit.
