Jolie-Pitt dish their cash

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have proved they've put their money where their mouths are after donating over £4 million to charity in 2006.

Federal tax documents filed by the couple's charity organisation, the Jolie Pitt Foundation, revealed that Brad gave a total of £2,219,786 and Angelina gave a whopping £2,079,260.

The couple established the charity foundation two years ago to help fund humanitarian causes around the world.

Charities such as Doctors Without Borders and Global Aids Alliance benefited from the Jolie-Pitts, receiving £500,000, while the Namibian Red Cross Programme received a total of £69,557.

A separate donation of £50,000 from the pair was given to the Daniel Pearl Foundation. The organisation was formed after the US journalist was murdered in Pakistan in 2002 and is a cause close to Angelina's heart, after she portrayed Pearl's wife Marianne in last year's film, A Mighty Heart.

The couple are renowned for their work with charitable causes. Angelina has been a UN Goodwill Ambassador since 2001, while Brad set up a housing project, Make It Right, for victims who suffered from 2005's Hurriane Katrina.

they make vast amounts of money doing a job that requires little effort has no great danger attached to it and it doesn't require much thought - 4 million doesn't seem that much!
