Lily reaches out to Cheryl

She may be her media rival, but Lily Allen says she ‘feels sorry’ for betrayed Cheryl Cole.



The singers have been embroiled in a long-running, well-publicised media feud, but Cheryl reportedly tried to bury the hatchet in January by congratulating Lily on her pregnancy.



Lily, who, sadly, later suffered a miscarriage, is now returning the favour by admitting she feels sorry for Cheryl, who is struggling to keep her marriage to Ashley Cole together after reports he cheated on her with at least three other women.



The star told the audience on her chat show, Lily Allen and Friends: 'A couple of years ago, if I had read the stuff about Cheryl Cole, about her and Ashley, I’d probably have had a little laugh to myself. Now I actually feel sorry for her. I’m not a nasty person anymore.’



She also admitted that her contempt of Cole had arisen out of jealousy of her stunning looks, saying: ‘She’s beautiful, that’s why I hated her so much.’



Lily is reportedly currently receiving treatment for depression at a top clinic in London.
