Oprah Winfrey tops TV 'rich list'
The queen of the chat show, Oprah Winfrey, has been confirmed as the highest-paid personality on TV.
The long-standing presenter earns four times more than her nearest rival, according to Forbes magazine.
Between June 2006 and June 2007 Winfrey was paid $260 million (£128 million), Forbes said.
Following far behind in second place was comedian Jerry Seinfeld whose earnings were $60 million (£30 million) last year.
Simon Cowell who has conquered TV in the States and become a household name across the pond as the outspoken judge on American Idol, came in third on the list earning $45 million.
Chat show host Jay Leno and entrepreneur impresario Donald Trump both appeared in the magazine's top 10.
Forbes senior editor, Lea Goldman, said daytime personalities 'dominate our list'. Winfrey is a regular in the Forbes polls, having topped the publication's most powerful celebrity list in June. In January she was also named the richest woman in entertainment with her chat show attracting 30 million viewers every week in the US.
The poll takes into consideration stars' earning, internet presence and press, TV and radio coverage.
