Anne-Marie Huby co-founded the UK’s first online fundraising company Just Giving. The site has enabled 12,000 charities to raise almost 1 billion since 2001.
‘I come from a very politically engaged family, and had already launched aid organisation Medecins Sans Frontieres in the UK when a colleague came to me with the idea of a website to help charities.
'It took a year to go through all the regulatory hoops, but now Just Giving helps people raise money in a way no one thought possible.
'I consider myself lucky to get paid to do something meaningful that I love.’
Success strategy?
‘The ability to adapt is vital. You need to be able to recognise quickly when something isn’t working. Every day you don’t realise or refuse to see something isn’t working, is money wasted.’
