To mark International Women's Day, we're celebrating photographer Lee Karen Stow's portraits of the women of Sierra Leone and their everyday struggles
'42' Women of Sierra Leone
Yeabu and Nana are among the New England Vegetable Growers. They grow spinach, potato leaf and cassava in a strip of green amidst the chaos and crowding of Freetown. Planting is done by hand due to the lack of tools, and the women bend for hours under a scorching sun.
