Stress isn't just bad for your mental health, it can have a negative effect on your weight, too. In his new book, Clean & Lean Diet, trainer to the stars, James Duigan, describes how stressful lifestyles can lead to an abundance of adrenaline and hormone cortisol, which releases sugar into the boodstream for instant energy. This excess sugar then is left to float around in the body, ending up as fat on your waist. In turn, you then crave sugar as your body thinks it needs it to keep going.
