EMECO & Coca Cola's recycled chair
By Victoria Hall on Monday 21 June 2010
Noted as being one of the most durable plastic chairs in the world, the Navy 111 Chair made heads turn at the Milan Furniture Show, but it wasn't the sleek, minimalist design that had people talking, it was what it was made from: 111 recycled Coca Cola bottles.
Appropriately launching during Recycle Week (21- 27 June), furniture designer EMECO
and Coca Cola's chairs use up hundreds of recycled bottles, and hopes to inspire other companies to create similar offerings.

The idea behind the project was to create a stylish, iconic chair based on the original Navy Chair designed in 1944, that would encourage and inspire more people to recycle. With chair itself set to recycle over 3 million bottles a year just through manufacturing alone, it's definitely kicked off to a good start.

Available exclusively from The Conran Shop form the end of June in six bold colours, this chair is set to revolutionise the future of recycling!
