What fired your ambition to start your own business?
I frequently traveled to NYC on business and noticed the concept of professional nail bars. It was affordable and super-quick and I realised there was a gap in the UK market for something similar.

What’s been a career high?
Nails Inc. won the Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) award and I was awarded the Entrepreneurial Woman of the Future Award. It was really exciting as there is stiff competition in the industry.

What’s the best careers advice that you’ve been given?
Talk to as many people as you can, it’s amazing what they are willing to share with you.

What makes a good mentor?
Someone who can see the bigger picture. It’s important to pinpoint and recognise a little bit of gold in a business or an entrepreneur and focus on nurturing and developing this. A good mentor will motivate and build up confidence.
