We caught up with her to talk inspiration and her own experience of mentoring ahead of our 2011 Marie Claire Inspire & Mentor campaign.

What fired your ambition to start your own business?

My focus was always to create a shopping environment with both designer and diffusion collections. I started the business from our house in France with my husband and I managed the buying, photography, customer service and packaging in the early days.

What’s been the best careers advice that you’ve been given?

I gained my motivation from my father who was an entrepreneur. He taught me that it was necessary to work hard for a good standard of living and that you can achieve anything you put your mind to.

What’s been a career high?

The recognition that we receive from the industry and the media has always been very rewarding. Every acknowledgement is a testament to all the hard work of the team.

What makes a good mentor?

Someone who listens and understands what you want to achieve, but allows you to realise the answers yourself.
