Fabulous views and the perfect location at the newly refurbished Westin Paris
I have seen some spectacular views in my years of travelling, but nothing could prepare me for the amazing panorama of Paris from my room at the Westin hotel.
As I drew back the curtains on one of the two sets of balconied French windows, after a long day shooting a fashion story for Marie Claire, it was like a postcard unveiling in front of me. The sun was rising, spreading a golden pinkie glow across the Jardin des Tuileries, down to the Place de la Concorde and over to the Eiffel Tower. On the other side, the glass pyramid of the Louvre was bathed in the rising sun. It was simply breathtaking.
However, it’s not just the rooms and their stunning views which lend this place its charm. The Westin’s cosy and inviting Tuileries bar is the perfect place to escape a rainy day in Paris, with its delicious hot chocolates and comfy armchairs, or an ideal rendezvous for intimate cocktails in the evening.
Situated right in the heart of Paris in the super chic first arrondissement, when the sun is out, the Westin is the perfect location to discover the centre of the city, being within walking distance of the Tuileries, the Louvre, the Place de la Concorde, and, more importantly, tea at Angelina’s and all the fabulous shops on rue Saint-Honoré.
For old fans of the Westin, who haven’t yet seen the redesign, the original Parisian features
are still very much in place and it feels as grand and luxurious as
you’d expect, but the newly refurbished rooms, including a fabulous spa
and restaurant, ensure it’s as chic and modern as it is traditional and
Unfortunately, with London calling, I only got to spend one very short night here, but I’ll be back again and this time for a long weekend break, maybe a birthday or anniversary. Paris, after all, is a romantic city and the Westin Paris is a very romantic hotel.
