Hats at the ready! You may have already seen the news on your Twitter feed, but Royal Ascot 2017 is set to be better than ever. The legendary style guide has already been released (which is a great help to navigating the strict dress code) and you won’t find a better excuse than this to splash out on a chic occasion dress or a spectacular hat.

Remember that black panama hat with an oversized brim that models stepped out in at Erdem’s SS17 catwalk show and Temperley’s incredible bohemian tie-neck dress? Well, go get for Ascot!

Aside from deciding what to wear, the next big question is which day to go along to the Royal Meeting? There are two equally appealing options to consider: beat the crowds by heading to the Grandstand on Tuesday 20th or Wednesday 21st June, or hold off for one of the three days when the hotly anticipated new Village Enclosure is open.

Opening its gates for the first time on Thursday 22nd, Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th June from 10.30am until 9pm, you’ll need to book tickets to be able to enter the Village Enclosure* but once you’re in you can eat your way around the pop-up stalls, dine al fresco, enjoy glorious afternoon tea or whet your whistle at the bars (*be quick, Saturday has already sold out!).

Expect to hear all kinds of music too –from jazz, funk, swing and soul artists to DJs and brass bands, they’ll be playing until the sun goes down. With so much going on, Ascot’s the perfect excuse to organise a get-together with your entire group of friends and meet new faces, too.

Nothing beats the atmosphere of a day at Ascot – maybe it’s because everyone is feeling unbelievably chic in new outfits, the diverse music that fills the air, or the excitement of winning back the cash you blew on your outfit that makes everyone feel high on life.
