Chocolate Afternoon Tea at Chancery Court Hotel, London
The January detox is over, it's still a bit cold and drizzly outside and we were in need of a treat. At least, that's what we told ourselves as we set off to sample the very height of decadence and every chocolate lover's dream

The January detox is over, it's still a bit cold and drizzly outside and we were in need of a treat. At least, that's what we told ourselves as we set off to sample the very height of decadence and every chocolate lover's dream.
The Lounge at the Chancery Court Hotel, London has launched a Chocolate Afternoon Tea with a help-yourself cocoa-themed buffet that allows you - no, scrap that, encourages you - to indulge in a limitless supply of the very finest chocolate delicacies.
We started with a platter of finger sandwiches, scones and tea. After giving this our attention for 10 minutes or so, we thought we had better reserve our capacity for the main event.
Equipped with nothing more than a bottle of water and a will to succeed, we attacked the buffet as though our reputation as chocolate-lovers depended on it.
Gorging on white chocolate and pistachio torte, raspberry chocolate macaroons, chocolate dipped meringues, cookies, Madeleine’s and brownies, we somehow managed to save room for the Willy-Wonka-esque chocolate fountain and finished off with a few strawberries dripping with molten chocolate.
And yes, we did feel rather green afterwards. But it was worth it.
