It's the most wonderful time of the year...
With Christmas just around the corner, the holiday season is well and truly upon us. If you’re looking for some seasonal events to get in the festive spirit, look no further, as we’ve rounded up the best Christmas events happening across the UK. From the ultimate Lapland experience to a full-blown snow day, you’re spoilt for choice this year.
Visit Lapland in the UK
Looking for some festive magic for the small folk in your lives, but can’t quite stretch to a plane ticket to the Arctic Circle to meet the big guy in red? Never mind, head to LaplandUK for the next best thing, where you’ll discover secret snowy woodland pathways to a hidden Elven village, huskies, reindeer and, of course, Father Christmas. Nestled in Whitmoor Forest near Ascot in Berkshire, LaplandUK has created an upmarket, enchanting experience with the help of Hollywood set designers and West End performers, so from the moment you step through the big wooden doors, have your Elf passport stamped and exchange your pounds into Elf jingles, you’re fully immersed in make-believe.
Children can decorate gingerbread with Mother Christmas in her kitchen, make toys with elves in the toy factory and go ice-skating on the outdoor rink flanked by towering pine trees before following the twinkly trail lit by fairy lights to meet Santa in his wintery home. If you don’t feel Christmassy when you arrive, you’re sure to be fabulously festive when you leave. The tour lasts 3.5 hours and tickets cost from £55-£130 per person, including an invitation from FC, elf passport, all activities, a luxury gift, souvenir photograph and thank you card.
