This year, there seems to be a theme in Hollywood when it comes to picking popular baby names. Where many A-listers would have previously opted for very unusual monikers, the celebrities seem to be picking more traditional baby names nowadays - from George and Amal Clooney and their twins' historical names, to Rosie Hungtingon-Whiteley and Jason Statham choosing the adorable Jack for their newborn.

But what about us non-celebrities? Are we swapping places with the stars and choosing more unusual names? What are the most popular baby names of 2017 so far?

We know that these are the trendiest baby names of 2017 so far, and that these one are at risk of extinction, but what we really want to know is the most popular baby name for girls and the most popular baby name for boys.

Earlier this year, baby-naming website Nameberry announced that Olivia was the most popular baby name of 2017 for girls and Asher was the most popular baby name for boys. But, in a shock twist, new data from BabyCentre shows that the lists have changed just as we're approaching the end of 2017 and neither of these names are the most popular baby names anymore!

Yes, Olivia has been knocked down to the second spot! And Isabella's will be pleased to here they haven't dropped off from the 5th place.
