Trying to fit exercise into our busy schedules can be a drag, but it doesn't need to be. What if we told you we could teach you how to do the Perfect Squat AND do it in one minute flat? As part of our new online fitness series, #MCMoves, we caught up with Svava Sigbertsdottir, founder of The Viking Method, and Marie Claire's new online personal trainer, to find out exactly how to do the perfect squat....

STEP ONE

'There's quite a few things you have to watch when you do a squat,' explains Svava. 'You have to watch your weight is back, your knees are going over your toes, your shoulders are back and as you come up, you engage your glutes.'

STEP TWO

'As you go down, the first thing you think about, your bum goes back. So you're not going down into your knees, you're going backwards.'

STEP THREE

'As you come down, you also watch your torso doesn't come forwards, you're going straight back and that's why your torso comes slightly forwards but you're not forcing the movement.'

STEP FOUR

'As you go down, keep those knees over your toes. So come all the way down, come up and think and engage your muscles properly. Don't just do the movement, think you're putting on a pair of tights and engage all of those muscles. And that's all it takes.'
