Last night Marie Claire hosted the first event of our 'How to get published' tour as part of our Inspire and Mentor campaign, helping women across the country to get ahead in new careers.

The sell-out audience arrived at Marie Claire HQ for an evening of champagne, canapes and career advice from our panel of top literary experts.

Commercial women's fiction writer Lindsey Kelk, author of 'The Single Girl's To Do List' and 'I Heart Paris', told the the story of her journey into publishing.

The panel also included literary agents, publishing directors and Marie Claire deputy editor, Charlotte Moore, all sharing their top tips for success in the hugely competitive industry.

The audience were left inspired and there was a great response on Twitter.
