I had breast reduction surgery two years ago and it was the best thing I have done {apart from having my daughter!}. I was plagued by big breasts from the age of 13 and when I was 18 years old I was put on the NHS waiting list for a reduction. My mother talked me out of it. I had my daughter at the age of 29 and my chest had balloned to a massive 36G which was far to big for my size 10 frame. Fed up my my cartoon sized chest I went and booked my surgery with a private clinic, the operation cost £4,000 and it was the best £4,000 I have ever spent. My confidence soared, clothes that were never an option were now on my shopping list. I think that if a large chest is affecting your health i.e back problems and your self confidence I would advise anyone to go ahead and do it as life is too short to be unhappy but more importantly you should research your potential surgeon and clinic thourghly before you commit as there are many horrer stories of "cheap surgery" etc and unfortunately no surgeon can guarantee 100% that there will not be any complications. I was very fortunate that I had a "text book recovery" and a fantastic surgeon who took on board my feelings. Be wary of cosmetic groups that are more interested in the money and finance packages they can offer, especially if your first consultation is with a sales person not a surgeon consultant.

I would love to have a breast reduction, I have a size 30 back and in G cup size I have recently been diagnosed with osteoporosis in my spine. I know some of the back pain is related to the size of my breasts, but at 59, a smoker and some health issues I feel an operation is not an option, but my life's a misery with them. I cant get clothes to fit my small frame size 8 because of my boobs and I couldn't put my family through the worry of any complications, so I m stuck with them.
