The key to long-term fitness is to think about ways of making your whole day more active. Here’s how:
Switch off cruise control Increase the intensity of everyday activities, from vacuuming to walking the dog.
Take the stairs It’s a great leg strengthener and calorie-burner.
Stand tall. You’ll burn more calories with a better posture.
Use shopping as dumb-bells Every time you let someone else pack your shopping, carry your bags or load your car, you are missing a great opportunity to enhance your muscle mass and burn a few more calories.
Do chair-robics at work Every hour, get up off your chair and do four lunges – that’s an extra potential four lunges a day.
