Work your own look
'You'll stand out much more if you work on your own look,' says Poppy King, author of Lessons of a Lipstick Queen. 'When you try to be someone you're not, you smother what's special about you, and can never be comfortable in your own skin.' She suggests: 'Get naked and take a good look in the mirror. What really stands out - your arms, tummy, legs? When you dress, play that part up. You should be able to forget what you're wearing. If you keep checking the mirror or fussing, it means the outfit's not right for you. Only things that feel good from the inside will make you look good.'
