Long lasting makeup?
      #1678 - 12/03/2008 17:36

Does anyone have any advice on long-lasting, natural looking make-up? I'm starting to think about what make-up I'll need to get for my wedding in June. Have heard Bobby Brown is supposed to be good...any ideas??

Hi
I really like estee lauder double wear make up. It really does last the day and doesn't rub off, also they now do a lightweight version (just released)
I have tried bobbi brown but it didn't live up to double wear...best wishes for your wedding!

thanks guys! I actually went for a bobbi brown make up trial thing and it was not great - the make-up was fine but the girl putting it on had no idea!!! I met a friend for a coffee afterwards and they asked me if I was going for a job in cirque du soleil! not quite the natural look I was going for...

Have since invested in some laura mercier makeup as have heard the foundation is good. if not, next stop estee lauder!!

Just going to keep up with the regular facials in the hope that my skin will continue to improve and I will be less reliant on make up on the day! So far so good!

thanks again for your help.

Hi Suzy,

when you bought the Laura Mercier, did you get their primer?

The LM primer is amazing, and is one of the keys to long lasting makeup, aswell as a light application of foundation, followed by powder and then finished with a fixing spray (MAC fix+ is what I use professionally!)

Benefit eye shadow pots are great, they last all day and don't crease!

Hi

Try Bare Escentuals - I've been using it for years now. Its a mineral makeup - and much better quality that the ones that all the big brands are doing now. It lasts all day, feels really light and looks natural;.

I buy mine from QVC as it comes in really good value kits.

well, never tried their make up completely, i use mascara & i must tell you that it is the best ever - no runs, no smudges, lasts as long as you hav it on and so easy to remove. Also for those of you who wear glasses it does not rub against the lenses!!! Simply the best.
