Week three: Saturday night

By Sarah Karmali  on Monday 25 October 2010

It's time for week three of the X Factor fashion face-off! Decide who gets your vote, as Cheryl and Dannii go head-to-head in the style stakes...

For week three, and Cheryl Cole made a welcome departure from her previous preference for black-on-black styling, in a floor-length nude HMH (Hanna Marie Hutchison) Couture dress, with cut-away sides and a twist knot front.

Her long mahogany locks and de Grisogono earrings completed the high-octane look.

Dannii Minogue also brought some colour to the X Factor stage, donning a Victoria Beckham design. for the second week in a row - in the form of this chic blue figure-hugging frock.

An elegant updo and leg-lengthening nude courts provided the finishing touches.

I wasn't overly keen on the length of dannii's dress and her second dress on Sunday was again, a really odd length..

Really tough one this week - Dannii has been winning easily for me so far, but Cheryl upped her game this time. She just scrapes it!

I think Danni looks great, so much class. Cheryl just looks like she needs to eat..

The colour of Cheryl's dress still looks good and the length gives it some drama which suits the event but the cut-out and front twist just make it look cheap.

Dannii's dress looks beautifully structured but too formal and "buttoned-up" for an entertainment showcase - an impression added to by the deep matt colour and rather difficult length. It's more "restrained tea with the Queen" than "glamour in the spotlight."

Dannii wins for me as Cheryl just too thin for this dress & her hair is terrible! Way too straggly & suits brunette way better. Love her earrings though...
