Viktor & Rolf A/W 2007
Talking point: With the models hitched up to heavy metal bars and forced to carry lights and speakers while walking down the catwalk in high-heeled clumpy clogs, the front row wasn’t concerned so much by the clothes, but by the fact it seemed impossible the show would close without at least one major accident.
The clothes: Inspired by Dutch folklore, the high necklines, low hems and acres of excess material gave the collection a demure, downbeat feel.
The idea: ‘To turn every model into a fashion show of her own,’ explained Rolf Snoeren. ‘To turn the fashion show into a look and to turn the clothes into a show.’
