Pretty chic at Alberta Ferretti

In a season where the skater skirt is emerging as a key trend - thanks to labels like 3.1 Philip Lim and Proenza Schouler sparking the idea back in NYC two weeks ago - Alberta Ferretti today showed off a fabulous line in traditional skater coats.

Nipped in at the waist and cuffed and collared in fur, they looked tailor-made for an afternoon ice-skating in Central Park (or perhaps Somerset House for us London dwellers).

For looking pretty over a steaming cup of hot chocolate afterwards, there were gorgeous silk cocktail dresses all embellished with glittering gems, either studded around the waist, braceleted around the wrist or bibbed at the neck.

Not forgetting her A-list clientele, Ferretti included a flurry of red-carpet gowns, most cut flatteringly on the bias and all sharing the sparkling embellishment of her shorter cocktail frocks.

Beautiful.
