Terminal 5 really is working

Marie Claire Blogs: Carla Bevan - Terminal 5

Today I fulfilled a personal ambition and turned left when getting onto a plane. Yes, business class nirvana was mine thanks to a cheeky upgrade courtesy of British Airways.

I was already in an usually good mood for a travelling day, having nipped through check-in in about four minutes flat (don't let anyone tell you otherwise, Terminal 5 works like a dream) and that was before I'd even spied the plethora of shopping on offer. (Seriously, it's better than Bond Street, and no one tries to mow you down with a Lamborghini when you cross between stores.)

But that was before I chanced upon the BA lounge. A 20-minute massage in the Elemis spa, a glass of wine and some homemade soup later and I'd pretty much convinced myself a change of career was on the cards so I can afford to travel this way all the time.

I was so overcome by the whole experience I gleefully leapt upon the chance to fill in one of those usually annoying customer feedback forms and gave them five out of five in every category (apart from entertainment; the films were diabolical. I ended up re-watching Sex and the City just to pass the time, despite the fact I didn't actually rate it the first time round).

Have your say ...
