For the initiated as well as the uninitiated

I'll never forget my first pair of Topshop jeans. A pair of black Jamie jeans for those of you asking. To say it was a revelation is an understatement. I'd come to the UK to study, and before I set foot in Toppers, I didn't know jeans could come in different lengths, well jeans I could afford that is. At 5f3", I was forever getting my mum to hem my trousers for me (thanks mum).

After finding that perfect pair of skinny black jeans that I could literally wear as soon as I left the shop, I couldn't go back, and have worn Topshop jeans ever since. They seriously last for years. These days, I'm more into their wide leg culotte and cropped mum jean styles, though I've still got my pair of trusted skinny jeans too.

For those of you who aren't already converts (many of you obviously are as one pair of jeans is sold every 10 seconds in Topshop), here's a quick guide of which jeans to buy depending on what you're after.

Topshop Jamie jeans

As i've mentioned before, the Jamie jeans are the ultimate style when it comes to finding the perfect skinny, and it will flatter most shapes. It's a high rise so it holds the tummy in, and is cropped at the ankle which is how I like my jeans, though if you prefer them longer, just pick a slightly longer length.

Topshop Joni jeans

If the Jamie isn't quite skinny enough for you, then the Joni will provide that spray-on denim look you're after. It's super stretchy and a high rise, giving it a slightly vintage twist.

Topshop Leigh jeans

If you're looking for that timeless denim piece, then the Leigh is for you. The mid-rise, skinny style is one of Topshop's most popular jeans.

Topshop petite jeans

There's nothing more disappointing than jeans gone baggy after a wash, especially if you're petite. Luckily, most Topshop jeans come in Petite version meaning you've always got the perfect fit.

Topshop tall jeans

I mentioned that Topshop was a saviour for short girls, but the same goes for tall ones, as there is a Tall range which goes up to 36" length.

However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.

Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
