From the small screen to the fashion front row, check out Alexa Chung's fabulous fashion transformation...
Who doesn’t love Alexa Chung’s style? Since she first graced our screens in 2006 in her signature preppy look, we have followed her rise to stardom and watched as this showstopping model-turned-presenter rapidly became something of a style icon.
She began modelling at 16 and went on to front campaigns for the likes of Sony and Urban Outfitters before appearing in several music videos for artists including The Streets, Westlife and Holly Valance.
Since then, Alexa Chung has gone from red carpet to front row, inspiring many with her signature looks in the process.
And it’s easy to see why. Naturally, Alexa’s enviable modelesque figure lends itself to those sleek, fresh off the catwalk designer wares.
To further illustrate just how achingly stylish this girl is, Mulberry even created a bag named after and inspired by her, the ‘Alexa’ of course.
From festivals to book launches, A-list dinners at the Serpentine to casual off-duty New York dressing – there is nothing we don’t love about Alexa’s look, and we’ve celebrated her style crudentials but charting her most stylish looks ever.

First up, Alexa wears a striking Roberto Cavalli by Peter Dundas leopard print velvet suit to the Tarzan premiere in Stockholm. We, LOVE.
Alexa chose a monochrome Alessandra Rich Fall 2016 look for the Tarzan premiere in London. She wore her signature locks artfully placed behind her ears and a lick of rouge on the lips for the event.
First up, Alexa worked the bedroom dressing trend to attend her latest Villoid garden tea party in Los Angeles. The brunette beauty offset her lingerie look with some well worn Converse and a freshly chopped, ultra-blunt bob.
Alexa was spotted out and about in NYC, giving the breton shirt another sartorial spin, pairing it with an on-trend brown suede coat. J’adore.
Simple yet elegant.
Now Alexa is the ultimate IT girl, an ambassador for the British Fashion Council and a design consultant for brands like AG Jeans and Marks And Spencer.
Alexa Chung proved she’s still the queen of festival fashion, rocking no less than four amazing looks during the Glastonbury 2014 weekend. We heart her metallic jumpsuit?
Adding edge to her sweet floral dress with a pair of patent ankle boots, Alexa adds classic finishing touches, with a beige trench and tan leather bag.
There’s no contest. This was hands down the best look of the night. Alexa Chung wore a stunning sequined vintage dress, which she had cheekily cut herself to make the hemline a little shorter. Shame about the mud-splattered footwear though, forget shabby chic, they’re just plain shabby. (19 February 2009)
It may be minus degrees outside, but that didn’t stop Alexa Chung showing off her wondrous walking sticks at the Jaeger show in Kensington. The TV presenter channelled her signature urban East London style with roughed-up locks, a sport luxe silk playsuit and a cosy nautical-inspired cardie. Achingly cool.
In typical Alexa Chung style, the TV presenter rocked up to the PPQ runway show at London’s Burlington Arcade in an oversized boyfriend-trend jacket, chunky shoe boots teamed with cheeky school girl ankle socks, and a gorgeous white chain bag one of spring’s hottest trends. Work it, Chung!
What is it with Alexa Chung? It seems like she can throw on anything and look effortlessly fantastic. The TV presenter’s ruffled PPQ autumn 2009 micro-mini which she kept cool by adding opaque tights was perfect NME Award attire. Throw in the trendy trench, cool cross-body purse (oversized? So over!), and she’s the ultimate rock-ready chick.
Daisy Lowe who’s just picked up her own reality TV show for MTV worked a kitsch printed T-shirt dress, which created a naughty image of a corset and suspenders, to the new vintage department at the Bolongaro Trevor store in London. Her fashionable shopping buddy? Alexa Chung, who looked suitably cool in an oversized white blouse. (3 April 2009)
You can always rely on Alexa Chung to steal the show stylistically, no matter what the event. Only she could get us yearning for a handbag in the shape of a cat (note the accessorising), and we love her Luella autumn/winter ’09 floral minidress and Mary Jane platforms. The presenter made one of her last London appearances for a while, stepping out at the Bafta TV Awards, before she jets out to live in New York. (26 April 2009)
Alexa Chung flashed her pins at the Royal Academy of Art’s summer party, in a thigh-high dove grey draped dress, with gold loafers and a baby pink bag. One word of advice Ms Chung you may have conquered the best-dressed lists, but the two-tone hair colour has to go. (3 June 2009)
Alexa Chung has headed Stateside to pursue a big-time presenting career but it’s not all work and no play! The Brit beauty took time out last night to enjoy a performance of The Lion King on Broadway, and flew the flag for cool Britannia in laidback but lovely skinny jeans and an always-trendy beige mac.
We know Alexa Chung has that whole quirky style thing going on, but we’d still love to see her glam it up a bit, just once! The TV starlet worked her signature red carpet dress-down look, in a white button-up blouse, black mini skirt and platform Mary-Janes. All fine, but for an A-list premiere a touch of glitz wouldn’t go amiss. (17 August 2009)
This time last year, Alexa Chung was topping best-dressed lists left-right-and-centre, so we can’t help but feel disappointed by her recent run of below-par looks. We know she might be unconventional when it comes to red carpet dressing, but this long cream dress is simply unflattering. Time for that Hollywood makeover, Ms Chung? (20 August 2009)
That’s more like it! We’ve bemoaned Alexa Chung’s string of style misses of late, but she seemed back on the fashion track last night, for a Charlotte Ronson party in New York. The Brit stylista rocked a red-hot minidress, teamed with statement necklaces, patent cut-out-out boots and an envelope clutch. Nice work Ms Chung, but a hairbrush wouldn’t go amiss next time. ( 21 August 2009)
Alexa Chung has well and truly made her mark on the New York City scene, but has maintained that London look for which she is loved. The fashionista opted for monochrome chic at the MTV Video Music Awards, in a white full-skirted frock, and lace-up shoe boots. (13 September 2009)
A Burberry show wouldn’t be complete with a trench-clad attendee so step up Alexa Chung! The TV stylista donned the iconic outerwear for the label’s spring/summer ’10 London Fashion Week show, where she took her place on the star-studded front row. (23 September 2009)
Back in London for Fashion Week, Alexa Chug took the opportunity to catch up with friends, and headed out for dinner with Jaime Winstone and A-list siblings, Alfie and Lily Allen. After a week of dressing-up, she dressed down in a chunky brown cardi, Topshop stripy top and black trousers. Maybe she’s been raiding Lily’s wardrobe the songstress has worn the same tee on stage. (24 September 2009)
Celebs really do love their leopard print. Alexa Chung took a walk on the wild side in her cuddly Topshop coat, which she brightened up with a pop of red on her lips. Comfy flats completed the stylish ensemble. Alexa was leaving the CFDA fashion funds award ceremony in New York. (18 November 2009)
