Shopping the green way

Love to shop? New site Coolaworld lets you indulge yourself and the planet

If you love to shop – and who doesn’t – but want to pledge your support to planet-saving projects as well, then new shopping portal, Coolaworld, could be the answer you’ve been looking for.

The portal is supported by leading environmental charities including Solar Aid, Waterwise and Waste Watch, and aims to raise billions of pounds for worldwide projects to halt global warming, using the same principle as Airmiles or Sainsbury’s Nectar points. Whilst most rewards schemes hold unused rewards points back, 100% of Cool Credits will go to Cool Projects.

Whenever you make a purchase through one of the many retailers including The White Company, Currys, John Lewis, M&S and The Body Shop, you earn yourself Cool Credits. Your credits can either go towards Cool Projects or you can spend them on a selection of green products for yourself.

Richard Kilgarriff, co-founder of Coolaworld said of the new portal: ‘Coolaworld makes it easy to do your bit for the planet while taking the first steps on your low-carbon journey. We can’t all be green overnight, but we can cool what we do every day.’

Marie Claire’s special Eco Chic issue with a free The Body Shop Body Butter and in association with Coolaworld, is out today.
