Catwalk Report: Amanda Wakeley

Amanda Wakeley SS08

WHEN STARTING PREPARATION for her spring/summer 2008 collection, Amanda Wakeley looked to Rodin's watercolours for her inspirational starting point. As a result, the show presented yesterday at London's BFC tent was full of fluid dresses in a palette of blush, celadon, and soft sienna.

Away from the dresses, the show was full of technical details. The opening looks featured an array of leather jackets, ranging from mac to crop and onto trench. Silk taffeta parkas created a look of luxury sportswear; along with oversized tees, and racer back tops and gowns.

Prints included flowing pastel lines cascading down dresses and graphic styles. Like the designer herself, the show was elegant and full of timeless style.
