AS A LONDON fashion week staple, Margaret Howell's signature look has kept her a loyal following amongst the capital's fashion crowd. This was particularly evident at her spring/summer 2008 show yesterday, as fashion teams and editors crammed into the designer's Wigmore Street store to view the latest collection.

Howell's easy look made for a country girl-style collection, as models emerged with braided hair wrapped like Alice bands around their heads, looking slightly dishevelled rather than harshly slicked. The make-up was fresh, complimenting the laid-back summer style for which Howell is famed.

Slouchy easy shorts were teamed with washed cotton check shirts, and all looks had a relaxed loose feel. Even the crisp buttoned up shirts were teamed with soft knits to keep things casual. Drawstring waist dresses were a highlight and epitomised the chic simple style.
