Details, details: Here truly was a master at work – from the studded hairpieces and gem-laden belts to the pearl-encrusted ankle boots and a sumptuous, embroidered brocade coat worn by Lily Cole, along with every hem, cuff and accessory in-between, everything was crafted to perfection.

Pretty in pink: From the opening procession of black winter coats exploded a more quirky collection of silk print dresses, all executed with Lacroix's irrepressible, unique style. Other colourful splashes in amongst the leather arm cuffs and dark tights included pink ribbons – a Lacroix trademark – knotted to shoulder straps or tied under the bust, and a vivid yellow belt wrapped round a dark grey cocktail dress.
