Giles A/W 2007
The venue: An old school hall in London's East End
The invite: A badger mask
The inspiration: The Seventies French movie Madame Claude, porcupine quills, fishing nets, Greek mythology, and Pride and Prejudice. Confused? You wouldn't be the only one.
Overheard: 'We just add and add and go mad, and we got on a real roll this time,' said Giles by way of explanation for the satin gown pieced together from 550 scraps of material, the huge oversized knits, over-the-top headdresses and Chinese pheasant feather-strewn footwear
Looks like: Nothing you've ever seen before. This was fashion at its most innovative, at its most fantastic.
