Friday Fashion Cupboard: 5 Pieces We’re Loving This Week

Every Friday our fashion editors rummage through the overflowing Marie Claire fashion cupboard. Come join us...

The Topshop Unique Coat
‘Obsessed’ doesn’t even cover it when it comes to this shearling Topshop Unique coat. Patchwork is going to be huge for AW15, but we have a bit of a wait on our hands for this beauty – it’s out at the end of September. At £995, it’s all about cost per wear. We’ll be wearing our’s with jeans, smart cropped trousers, midi skirts… pretty much everything.

Pimp Up My Pencil Skirt
I spotted this Dorothy Perkins skirt on a press appointment with Arcadia. It really jumped out in the sea of autumnal colours. The bold print screams designer. Wear with a plain grey tee and denim jacket. It will be available to buy at the end of June. Price £22.

Ballet Pumps Are So Last Season
When it comes to footwear, it’s all about loafers – and chunky ones at that. I love the oversized jumbo pearls that keep the feminine vibes in check here. Part of the Emporio Armani AW collection, at £480 they’ll be in store in August.

When You Want To Do Day-To-Night
This Emma Cook dress caught my eye in the fashion cupboard, not just because it’s an incredible colour combo but the easy-to-wear shape and style leaps out at you. Team with a white shirt layered underneath, with a pop of collar showing, for the office, then add a bold necklace for cocktails. £400 on Net-A-Porter -available in July.

The Statement Bag
This Marni bag is a beaut. At £770, with printed flowers on eco leather, it has a one-off feel about it. I don’t whether it’s the four compartments that I can imagine filling with my goodies or the extra strap you can use so the bag fits around your body, satchel style, but I am sold. It’s out at the end of this month, so start saving now.
