With a vibrant red dress you should go for a contrasting colour heel. Some people make the mistake of teaming red with black heels, but for daywear this should be avoided.
I would recommend a cream shade, which would give you scope to wear a similar coloured hat or jacket.
This patent cream pair from Dune would work perfectly with the dress. The crossover strap is bang on trend this season, as is the cone heel - which may be less hazardous than a stiletto heel when you wander across the lawn at the drinks reception!
