Undercover

Hailed the new 'King of Cool', 37-year-old Jun Takahashi is the creative force behind the hauntingly beautiful Japanese label, Undercover.

Pretty weird might be an apt desription for the line, which, says Jun, always incorporates 'something beautiful and something ugly - which are equal'. The Spring 2008 collection saw models sporting silk silver floral-embellished mini dresses with other-worldly, wacky eye-guards. Fantastical meets feminine.

Takashi graduated from Tokyo's Bunka college in 1991 and, after opening a shop called Nowhere in 1993, he showed his first Undercover collection in Tokyo in 1994. His Paris debut followed nearly a decade later in 2002.

His disturbing romanticism has been making waves ever since.
