Marc Jacobs
In 1987, a 24-years old Marc Jacobs became the youngest recipient to be awarded the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent.
This perhaps set the tone for Jacobs career, as one of the real leaders of the fashion industry. He designed his first collection under the Marc Jacobs label in 1986, and debuted his diffusion line Marc by Marc Jacobs in 2000.
Jacobs is also artistic director at Louis Vuitton, a position he has held since 1997.
Jacobs has a loyal following, and his fashion shows are often the most celebrity packed of the season. Sofia Coppola, Winona Ryder and Sarah Jessica Parker are all firm fans.
