It has been two months since Big Little Lies graced our screens and after binge-watching the entire miniseries in the first weekend, there is now a black comedy shaped hole on Netflix.

The series, starring Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Alexander Skarsgard, was a huge hit for the HBO network, based on the best-selling book by Liane Moriarty, Big Little Lies.

Luckily for everyone, there is a new Liane Moriarty adaptation on the way – this one being a CBS film adaption of the author’s New York Times bestseller, The Husband’s Secret.

We were sold already, but as if being written by the same author of Big Little Lies wasn’t enough, the adaptation is also set to be a must-see because of the A-list cast.

Blake Lively is set to star in the series as the main character, Cecilia Fitzpatrick, a role described by The Hollywood Reporter as ‘a chronic perfectionist whose suburban bubble is burst when she finds a note from her husband addressed to her with instructions to open it in the event of his death.’ We are sold.

CBS Films president Terry Press praised the project, announcing, ‘Liane Moriarty has established herself as one of the defining voices of the modern woman, and Blake Lively’s unique combination of vulnerability, strength and extraordinary talent makes her the best actress to realize Moriarty’s creation.’

We officially cannot wait.
