Let's face it, Christmas movies are pretty awesome. We can't wait to snuggle up on the sofa, get stuck into these festive treats, and laugh (and probably cry) all the way to New Year's Eve.
We couldn’t believe it when we heard that Elf wasn’t going to be on Channel 4 this year. A total travesty, if you ask us. Because nothing gets us in the festive mood more than witnessing Buddy’s ridiculously infectious enthusiasm…”SANTA!! OH MY GOD!!”
2. Miracle On 34th Street
Sweet little Susan, how can you not believe in Santa!? You’re, like, 5; the cynicism is so heartbreaking. But, just you wait, Kris Kringle is gonna make a believer out of you…
3. Meet Me In St Louis
This is hands down the best Christmas movie song ever. Don’t pretend like you don’t know the words…
4. Love Actually
And this is definitely the most romantic Christmas movie moment in history – even if it is a tad stalker-y and wrong on his part…
5. How The Grinch Stole Christmas
When the grouchy Grinch’s heart grows three sizes… Tear.
6. It’s A Wonderful Life
Another one that’s guaranteed to get us bawling with joy. First, everyone saves George, and then good old Clarence gets his wings. Just too great.
7. White Christmas
Another classic Christmas tune. It’s practically worth watching the whole movie just for this scene. And we are loving the costumes – very festive chic.
8. Home Alone
There is officially nothing more Christmassy than the sight of Macauley Culkin in Home Alone. Fact.
9. The Muppet Christmas Carol
There are singing muppets everywhere and nasty old Scrooge finally starts getting into the festive spirit – what’s not to love?
10. The Holiday
And we just CAN’T. EVEN. DEAL. WITH. THIS.
