Take a look at the new Great British Bake Off judges and presenters

Channel 4 promised a dramatic reboot of the show when its controversial move from the BBC was announced late last year, a move that lost GBBO some of its key players in presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, as well as judge and baking institution Mary Berry.

Paul Hollywood did agree to stay on in the show, however, and when the judge who'll be joining him - as well as the show's two new presenters - were announced by Channel 4, the world was a little, well, surprised.

Joining Paul as a judge will be Prue Leith (a smart choice given her expertise), while the presenters will be Sandi Toksvig and... Noel Fielding.

Yup, Noel Fielding.

The Mighty Boosh star and quiz show regular said ‘GBBO is one of my favourite shows. I’ve always loved brightly coloured cakes and Sandi Toksvig so this is a dream come true for me! It’s basically the double.’

Sandi said she was equally excited about working with Noel. ‘It is an extraordinary honour to part of this national treasure of a show. Noel Fielding is one of the nicest guys in show business. The first time I met him I felt like I had met a rather wayward cousin whose take on the world made me laugh. The only down side is that he has much better dress sense that I do. I spend my daytimes on Channel 4 already so it will be a treat to be there in the evenings. I am so delighted to be working with Love Productions and Channel 4 on this best of British show.’

Mel and Sue are a tough act to follow, but given Toksvig and Fielding's reputations we think Channel 4 might have cracked this one. We'll find out when the fresh show launches later this year.
