Wait, WHAT?

It was announced earlier this year that the Spice Girls would be reuniting, with the five girls - Posh, Scary, Sporty, Ginger and Baby - breaking the news in a joint statement.

‘The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together,’ the statement read. ‘We all agree that there are many exciting possibilities that will once again embrace the original essence of The Spice Girls, while reinforcing the message of female empowerment for future generations.’

‘Lovely seeing the girls #girlpower is alive and well,’ shared Geri Horner, alongside a photo of the five of them, having met at her house with their former manager Simon Fuller, while Victoria Beckham posted ‘Love my girls!!! So many kisses!!! X exciting x’, along with the hashtags #friendshipneverends and #girlpower.

While every millennial has spent the past month Googling how to buy tickets for what was sure to be an upcoming Spice Girls tour, our dreams have already been dashed as it emerged this week that this wouldn't be the case.

That's right. Fast forward a month and it looks like the girlband might be breaking up again - before they have even officially got back together.

‘I’m not going on tour. The girls aren’t going on tour,’ Victoria Beckham reportedly announced in a recent interview. 'There’s something so strong in the message of what the Spice Girls stood for. What is that in the future? What does that look like? We were just bouncing ideas around. Brainstorming.’

While VB's comments led fans to jump to the conclusion that the Spice Girls reunion might not be happening after all, their former manager Simon Fuller wasn’t so sure, suggesting that it could be going ahead, just without Posh Spice herself.

‘It may be four, not five. Possibly,’ Fuller told TMZ.

Say it isn't so Spice Girls!
