Have a 'Cheep Cheep' Easter
Posted by Anita Brook at 17:51 on 30 Mar 2010
It's just a few days until we will be enjoying a long Easter weekend - four days off work AND we get an excuse to eat lots and lots of chocolate. Yey and yum!
I have found a few bargains to help you have a fun time without spending too much money.
Cracking Eggs:
Easter is all about stuffing your face with chocolate (well it is a big part of it). If you fancy some posh chocolate then you can get 10% off Thornton's eggs if you use a discount code from voucher hub.
If you're looking to spend even less, one of the best deals I found was at Tesco, who are doing two eggs for £2 (includes Cadbury's Cream Egg, Malteaser and Milky Way varieties). Sainsbury's KitKat and Smarties Easter eggs were even better at just 95p each (down from £2 last year).
Cheaper still, if you can wait until after Easter, then all the eggs will all be reduced.
Weekend away:
If you fancy a luxury weekend away for Easter, I found some good value breaks with Superbreak. You can get two nights in a 4* hotel in Edinburgh, including a meal on the first night for £98 per person. You can get a similar deal in London for £118.
Free things for the kids (and the big kids):
If you have children or are just a big kid yourself, there are loads of free or discounted things you can do over Easter. Here are a few I came across:
Wild Things Live! - Florida fun park's Sea World show is touring the UK. Families will have the chance to look, listen, touch and learn about the animals on show, such as penguins, lemurs and reptiles - and it's all free. Wild Things: Live! will run from April 10 to 16. For locations, see wildthingstour.co.uk.
Bowl for 1p: If you don't mind an early start, Hollywood Bowl's offering 1p bowling per person during the Easter holidays between 9-9.30am! At full price a game's usually up to £4.45 depending on venue, so you'll save up to £4.44 per head. It's subject to availability, so book early. Book online.
Thorpe Park is offering 25 per cent discount on Easter admission prices. Just call 0870 444 4466 or visit thorpepark.com.
Have a brilliant and non- eggspensive Easter. (I'm sorry, I couldn't resist)!

I ate too many. I found some cheap eggs in Sainbury's that were not in a box - perfect for an egg hunt!
