The Paparazzi, hypocrites? Absolutely.

I was in the British pub in Santa Monica with my boyfriend's workmates this weekend when I got into a discussion with one the agency's most successful paps. Giles has been working the LA streets since before the whole celebrity culture exploded and has a very nice house to show for it. His next-door-neighbour is an actor who has always been in work, but until last year wasn't really on anyone's radar. Cut to 2010 and he's enjoyed a massive box office success, has film offers coming out of his ears and has also acquired an A-list girlfriend.

"It must be great for you," I said to Giles, "You must get pics of her all the time."

"Yes," he replied, but then moaned, "The problem is, I've got paps camped outside my house day and night now. There goes the neighbourhood."
