Viktor & Rolf play dress up in Paris
Posted by Carla Bevan at 16:37 on 6 Mar 2010
Kristen McMenamy, I salute you. It's probably stressful enough walking the runway during Paris Fashion Week, what with the sky-high heels, the burning overhead lamps and a thousand pairs of eyes watching should you stumble (not to mention the ten-thousands fingers poised to commit the faux pas to Twitter history).
Well, imagine that stress and then pile on 23 costume changes, all at one time!

She arrived on the runway sporting what looked like the world's largest coat (which it quite possibly was) and then we watched, transfixed, as designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, aka Vikor & Rolf, joined her on the revolving runway and piece by piece dismantled her outfit, dressing the rest of their model brigade with the cast offs as they went.
With the music thumping and the undressing getting faster by the moment, no one in the audience, which included both Lindsay Lohan and Beth Ditto, could tear their eyes from the spectacle. You could almost hear the sigh of relief when Kristen finally stood disrobed in just a nude bodysuit and heels.

And then? Well, then they dressed her back up again.

In a month which has been light on the theatrics, this touch of fashion magic won't be forgotten in quite some time.
