No make-up, no heels, no knickers

I was slightly startled when I felt the difference between my new touring bike and my old road bike. The former being much heavier. Fully loaded is another story. I never had time to train with the pannier bags loaded and attached to the bike. So, the first time was leaving Cairo with the maniac drivers. if you have problems passing your driving test in the UK, I'm sure you'll pass with flying colours in Egypt's capital. I'm proud to admit that I've left all feminine dignity back in the mother land and I'm truly roughing it for the next 6 months. No make-make, no heels and no knickers. The lack of knickers, i hasten to add, I learnt the hard way on a previous cycling expedition to Paris. Cycling long distances inevitably  leaves the bottom rather tender. However,  wearing knickers increases the issue ten-fold and leaves you with a bottom looking rather like a pepperoni  pizza, with extra topping. And so, I've opted without. At least I'm saving some weight.
