I'm about to cycle 8000 miles down Africa, making the World Cup, with 3 men I've only just met. Why, because I'm 27, single, still living at home and have had no luck finding work in journalism. I have nothing holding me back, an adventure of a lifetime calling my name and so I'll create my own work en route.
However, I'm my mum's only daughter, and she refused to let me go alone. Being a stubborn and determined madam I reassured her I was definitely doing it but for the sake of her sanity I'd find someone to accompany me. With a little help with an article in the Metro, and after sifting through over 400 responses I found three like-minded lads, who were ready to up sticks and join me.
There's no going back now. Next stop Cairo...
