Pussycat Doll is Cat’s Whiskers

Pussycat Doll is Cat’s Whiskers; Lara Meets Pussycat Doll Kimberly and Sees How Many Pussycat Puns She Can Squeeze into One Blog
My bloggee today is one fifth of the sexiest girl group on the planet. This will be no surprise to my regular readers who know that my recent hook-ups with breathtaking beauties Elle Macpherson and Sophie Ellis-Bextor have "coincided" with me confronting self-image issues in therapy. I’m attracting “opportunities” (forward slash my worst nightmares) to deal with any negative feelings I may have about my body. To let them fall away. To be happy with myself. I can do this. It's entirely possible. I've only had six sessions in counselling so I’m not fully Zen yet but it’s all good. Last night I looked at my naked frame in the mirror and practically managed not to burst into self-pitying hysterical sobs. It’s a start. Nicole Richie wanted to look like this.
Today’s blog comes with a twist. Meeting the blonde, punky Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt was no chance encounter at a celeb hotspot. No. Ironically, my blogs have become quite the celeb "must have" and I was seeked out, requested, to meet Kimberly and give her a little blog-up and I was happy to acquiesce to the universal plan...
Pussycat, pussycat, where are you? Staying at a swank central London hotel under a nom de plume at the moment.
But even this covert tactic was insufficient to ward off the three teenagers lying in wait outside the hotel in their Pussycat Doll T-shirts; snapping their fingers and singing “Don’t Cha” in the drizzling rain to an audience of poker-faced bellboys all biting their lips to stop themselves joining in the chorus and trying to give off the vibe of; “Absolutely no Pussycat Dolls here. Not a whisker."
Armed with Kimberly’s pseudonym and looking as inconspicuous as I could in a red satin corset, red devil beret and scarlet lipstick I joined Miss Wyatt for a chat in her boudoir overlooking the... Oops! Nearly let the cat out the bag!
I know from PCD videos that Kimberly is the best dancer in the group - she won a scholarship to New York’s elite Joffrey Ballet School at 14, but she’s been so busy with The Dolls she hasn’t had time to pursue her real passion for teaching dance and inspiring others. So, she started a blog site www.beautifulmovements.com where she writes (very insightfully and honestly) about her quest for inner peace and "to let go of any baggage and really be free in the moment."
Kimberly's blogs articulately mirror a lot of what I pay £45 an hour to discuss in counselling; jealousy, self torture, "the fight for beauty", fear and hope. Extraordinary that a girl in a wheelchair would share similar self-image problems with a real-life Pussycat who looks pretty much purr-fect. It may not be that I have a “fat day” and force myself to go on a run as Kimberly does, but I have “thin days” where I wonder how much scrawnier/muscle-wasted my body can possibly get and make myself do some positive visualisation. Shaky self- esteem is universal; women everywhere are struggling to find self-acceptance and I blame it all on men. And Pamela Anderson. And the entertainment industry. And the porn industry. And men.
But I also accept that women have a responsibility to stop comparing themselves and obsessing over physical “flaws” and discover their self-confidence. When we are happy in ourselves we can learn to love overtly sexual, anti-feminist pin-ups such as Pammie and maybe even men, in time.
Anyway, the point of this blog is that Kimberly, who is luminous, vivacious, entirely unpretentious and more kitten than cat, is taking time out of the PCD tour to teach a series of Dance Master Classes at London’s Urdang this Sunday and Monday.
These classes are not just for dancers; they cater for all levels of ability and fans and anyone with an interest in feeling more confident about themselves and their body will benefit. And Kimberly’s doing a special section teaching how to dance in high heels which of course is a must for any gal who’s ever been to a nightclub. This might be catty and the pot calling the kettle black, but I rarely see girls that can actually walk in stilettos let alone dance, especially after a Cosmopolitan or three. Putting my claws back in now.

Oooh a dancing in heels class would do me wonders - I almost always dance in flats, just don't feel comfortable doing more than a bit of a shuffle in heels!
