The truth behind our TV special
Posted by Tom Gormer at 14:08 on 6 Oct 2008
As you will see from looking here and here, this month's Marie Claire features an epic photographic extravaganza of TV talent!
But what really happened on all of these photoshoots?
Let's look and read in a handy listy type of way because I cannot write in sentences!
ANT AND DEC
Discussed ye olden days with Terry O’Neill.
Reminisced about how they recorded some of their hit singles down the road from the studio.
Told us that MR T and Gary Coleman from Diff’rent Strokes were on their wish list for I'm A Celeb.
Told funny stories about going for dinner with Simon Cowell.
FACT! Terry O’Neill has since photographed them for their book cover.
FACT! Terry O’Neill says Ant photographs like a young Warren Beatty.
THE CAST OF GAVIN AND STACEY
It rained.
Everone tucked into sandwiches and salads from Pret A Manger.
James Corden drove himself to the shoot.
Mathew Horne had been to V festival the previous day and was discussing how the papers made up stories about him.
Joanna Page had to be finished by 5pm to get to the theatre.
They all laughed and joked on the bus and didn’t complain once.
We drove from the Haymarket Hotel around Picadilly Circus then Trafalgar Square, down to Westminster then over the Bridge and back.
Despite it raining, ice creams were consumed!
FACT! Ruth Jones purchased the dress she wore on the shoot.
FACT! Ruth Jones humoured me by doing Nighty Night impressions. 'Poor Terry etc etc'.
THE BRGHT YOUNG THINGS
Each actor had a publicist with them. That’s a lot of people in one studio.
Apart from Michelle Keegan. She came alone, from Manchester and was v.nervous (we love her).
The photographer remembered everybody's name. Amazing.
Lunch was salad and chicken followed by sandwiches sent over from Pret.
Michael Jackson and N.E.R.D were playing on the stereo.
It was a hectic and very long day.
FACT! Tamsin Egerton's legs go on FOREVER.
FACT! Tamsin Egerton's publicist's son is in the new Burberry adverts!!! OMG!!!
JAIME, JAMIE AND BENEDICT
Jaime Winstone = lovely. Tiny. Beautiful.
Jaime phoned to say she would be late for the shoot. She was four minutes late.
We ate bagels and donuts from Brick Lane.
And drank water from the corner shop and multiple hot drinks from the location.
Everyone at Beach Blanket Babylon (the location) was v.helpful and put up with us and a cast of thousands.
FACT! Since the shoot we have seen Jaime out and about and she is still lovely and chatty.
Still to come tomorrow, Fearne and Denise and HRH Simon Cowell...
